Skiing trip

So today was the skiing outing for the school, me being not too keen on skiing did snowboarding instead. Anyway about half way down the slope I heard people shouting, I looked around and saw some girls from another school so I thought they must be shouting at someone behind me. But when I got nearer they kept on shouting, and it was

“Hello! Hello!” – IN ENGLiSH!

I took my goggles off “oh hello there!” I’ve no idea who they were, and they were a bit surprise when I revealed my face.

“Where are you from?” I asked

They answered back promptly in perfect harmony “Asahikawa”.

“Oh ok, well nice to see you all, b’bye!” and off I went trying to look cool and not to fall until I was out of their sight.

I’m guessing there must be a foreign teacher in their school who decided to do snowboarding instead, and that they got me mixed up with him (her?) since I had a instructor’s badge on (even though I was worse than any of the students there).

Still haven’t decided if I’ll re-contract or not. I hate life decisions.

The hard decisions in life.

So I’m in a difficult stage in life again where I have to decided if I’d like to stay in Chippubetsu for one more year. I’ve been thinking about this for the last two weeks, and it’s been making me sleep late and feeling terrible. I’m waaaaay behind in my JET Japanese Language Programme as well. I really wish I could have two more months before I have to make a decision.

The thing is I know whatever I choose I’m likely to have some regrets about it.

Anyway, here are some nice photos.

明けましておめでとうございます Happy New Year 新年快樂

Wow, Chinese really is the most space saving writing system. Hope everyone had a great new year.

Looking back it really has been a wonderful year, graduating from university and getting on the JET Programme. I would always remember it as the year that made realise “I can”.
As for the new year I would like to travel more, and I’ll certainly be visiting Taiwan to ride the new Shinkansen there.

Here’s the television commercial, I’ve watched it for like ten times already, the song makes me home sick even though it’s in Taiwanese and I can’t understand most of it.

My Dad’s coming tomorrow!
