Many of you would probably already know that I’m going to Japan under the JET programme to work as a assistant English teacher (AET). If you don’t then you do now.
I’m going to a small town in Hokkaido called Chippubetsu or just Chippu if you wanna be cute. While it’s a bit further from Tokyo than I would have liked, I’m now actually excited about the prospect of living in somewhere totally different, I mean I’ve been living in cities for long enough now.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about things to bring with me for my introductory lesson that will symbolise Scotland or Glasgow, so far I got Nessy plush toy, Puffin plush toy, Saltire, kilt, ceilidh music, short bread, thistle, Money, Japanese things in Scotland, Bus Tickets and a tourist map of Glasgow. I really can’t think of anything else, so do let me know if you think I’m missing anything out.
I’ve also been going round taking photos of Glasgow, I think these are pretty cool and gives a positive image of Glasgow.

Our lovely trains!
Took me three days to actually catch Wellington wearing his favourite hat, now I can teach them to say “the traffic cone is on the statue’s head”.
As James said that I should give them a balanced view of Glasgow; so here’s one courtesy of the Lad’s banter forum:

Anything missing?
